Lita Rossana Ford - also known as Lita Ford - is an American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter of British heritage. It was not possible for the band to be an overnight success in the United States, however they did gain a lot of traction in other countries, particularly Japan. Ford started a heavy metal solo career following the band split in 1979. She started taking voice classes shortly after releasing her debut album 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Ford was unable to achieve any success with either album so she walked away from the rock scene for about a decade. In 1988, she returned to the limelight with her hit album "Lita". The hit single, 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' were huge hits. The problem was that she only had a short career and disappeared from the scene for a number of years. In 1995, she released her debut album "Black," followed by 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. She released her latest album in 2016 called 'Time Capsule. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
